Need help overclocking processor plz!!!!!!!!!!!

i got an e7400 processor and want to overclock it. its stock is 2.8ghz and at least i want to get it to 3.0ghz, but i dony know how to do it, can u help me plz??

    3.0 ghz is a very easy overclock you shouldnt have to change anything but the FSB and maybe your RAMs ratio which would be best at 1:1.

    What motherboard you have?
  2. To get 3ghz just go into bios and change FSB to 286 and keep your multiplier at 10.5 you wont have to change anything else to be stable at 3ghz. If you want to go higher please read the guide.

    Ahh you forgot to mention it was an HP compaq board there wont be anything in the bios to overclock your cpu they lock that stuff out so you dont ruin the machine. Your only hope is to maybe try using a utility called setfsb but dont expect much because you wont be able to change your voltage. But it looks like it might not work with the G31 chipset but its worth a shot.

    is a compaq presario sg3515la, what do i need to put on clock generator??

    i overclocked my cpu with setfsb, but do i have to run the program everytime i boot the pc???

  15. Not sure I never used it before but probably yes. I think you can put it as a startup item and it will just start with windows.
