I plan in just installing XP32 first, defragging, then running 3dmark06. Here's the list of parts;

MB: ASUS RAMPAGE FORMULA LGA 775 Intel X48 ATX Intel Motherboard

CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E8600 Wolfdale 3.33GHz 6MB L2 Cache LGA 775 65W Dual-Core Processor

RAM: G.SKILL 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1000 (PC2 8000) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory(8gig-yea, I know XP will only see about gig)

PSU: CORSAIR CMPSU-750TX 750W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS Certified Active PFC Power Supply

HDD: Western Digital Caviar Black WD1001FALS 1TB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive

GPU: GIGABYTE GV-R485OC-1GH Radeon HD 4850 1GB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFire Supported Video Card X 2, running in Crossfire config.

Now here's the question ; Guess what my benchark score will be in 3dmark06. I'm talking the total score from a full version. I'm hoping for around 14,000....but I'm an optimist.

The bonus question is; What will be my score using 3dmark Vantage, in Vista 64??

I will post up tomorow, when I finish with everything, and let you know the results.

14262 and after you overclock a bit..... 15490.

You can easily overclock that processor to 3.8-4 GHz

I scored over 14000 with two 3870's. I have since sold them and run a 4870 x2. I scored 18390 with my new card.

Download Fraps. http://www.fraps.com/download.php

Let me know how you do with Crysis 1680x1050 on high. Your cards should do well.

I won't have the system together and running until tomorrow. Ph#cking UPS still isn't here, @ 6pm local time, and the website says its on the truck.

One thing I don't want to do is stay up all night building and installing software. You make way too many mistakes that way. Best way to build, for me anyways, is in the morning after a big cup of coffee......or three.

Stay tuned. Hoping for over 15,000 in XP.
And yea, I know some of you don't care, so excuse my enthusiasm. Haven't built a new computer in 5 years, so I'm a little amped.

Well I'm up an running. I just installed Vista64, and haven't yet installed XP32. I can't get 3dmark Vantage to work, no matter what I do. It seems to install, but I get an error than one of the files it's trying to install isn't the same as the .cab file, so I ignore it, and it finishes with the install. Then I try to run it, and I get another error, so I'm lost here.

I did run the Vista experience score, and got a 5.9, and that's with everything set to normal, no over clocking. How high does it go??

I'm installing Crysis now, and have Frapps already installed, so I'll try to get some benchmarks that way. I wish I could get Vantage to work,,,anybody help??
