I have a HP G60 laptop. It has 3 USB ports. I believe the connection between MB and USB is bad. 2 of the ports are on the right, 1 on the left. Sometimes, when I plug in my flash drive, it detects fine. Other times, it will not detect USB flash drive but when I pick up the laptop by the right front corner, which slightly flexes the laptop, connection is made. I am experienced with soldering but I do not want to void warranty. Also, I contacted HP support and went through all the motions of reinstalling drivers and flashing bios. Now, HP wants to do a full system restore in which I will lose all data. How would a restore help since I think it is an obvious hardware issue?? Any insight or fixes on this problem would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance,

Do an image backup of your system with Paragon Backup & Recovery or similar. Or clone the hard disk to another one with Paragon Hard Disk Manager or similar. Try what HP wants. Most likely it will not work.
Get them to do a warranty repair.
Then restore the image back to your laptop.
