Hello, I have a USB storage device and I want to format it but this error occurred: "The Disc is write protected". I read the exiting answers but I can't find StorageDevicePolicies in Regedit. how can I remove write protected?

Hey buddy....

see if there is any switch to flip,if not then try....... . . .

when we are use a Pen drive.. sometime we can't paste or delete any content. it will say write protected. this will happen by virus attack. if we try to format the pen drive
through any OS( windows, Linux), we can't format it. it will say unmount volume in Linux. we can only read the items which are in pen drive. if we scan the pen drive with any anti-virus program it will find some viruses(sometime). so scan it,if this fails to have viruses....

HP USB Disk-Storage Format Utility
Http://downloads.pcworld.com/pub/new/utilities/peripherals/SP27608.exe.

Hope you recover it instantly.......
reply soon....
