Asus 733 motherboard

I have set the motherboard to the manual settings,but the computer will not start.It begins to start,then continually reboots.It is set to 13x and 2.5.
Your help would be appreciated.I cannot get it to set to 3 as it is fixed at 2.5.
I shorted the two left pins of the three pin plug,but this does not seem to to anything.The setting is at 100/33.I get a red lettered notice saying the system has hung up due to incorrect speed setting,but I do not know how to change the setting.

Try to reset everything in your BIOS first, then start from scratch, I'd also be concerned about shorting out something; you should have that motherboard looked at.
