Hey there I've decided to buy a new motherboard.
And i want an Amd because its cheap for the performance.
I thought about getting an Phenom2 but i've notiched that the phenom2 x3 is AM3 and Phenom2 x4 an AM2+.
Now i know that AM3 is newer... but it wont support the Phenom2 x4 940 right ?
So my question is: is it worth getting an AM3 motherboard ? and will there come quad cpu's for it ?
Or should i just get the Am2+ one with the Phenom 940 ?
If you want the x3 720BE - "mid-range rig + mainly for gaming" Triple Core.
AM3 is pretty pricey on there motherboards, plus getting DDR3 ram.
AM2+ allows you to get there motherboards and ddr2 ram helping your budget needs and allowing upgrades later on as prices go down and technology builds up.
