My usb worked perfectly now it doesnt !

Hello,
My usb was working fine, I was doing my work etc. Until then out of no where the usb just turned off and a Little box appeared saying the device has malfunctioned ! I look for updates, but there isnt! Im stressed! this usb has all my personal files etc. HELP, how can I fix my usb

Are you talking about a USB flash drive? If so, you can try it on another computer to see if it will work, i.e. it could be an issue with the USB ports on your computer. If that doesn't do the trick, I'm afraid that the drive is probably shot.
