I have an HP 510 laptop, and all of a sudden when I turn it on it says NTLDR is missing! Does anyone know what I can do to fix it?

NTLDR missing means ur laptop cant find its operating system i.e windows.

to check that its booting from ur OS drive go into the bios by repetedly pressing delete at start up and then looking at boot devices in the menu and checking that the hard drive is set as the primary or first boot device.

if not change it. if so ur OS may be corrupt

if thats the case id advise taking to a PC shop and trying to backup any files you need then doing a system restore

you can preform a system restore by using the recovery disks or by pressing f10 at start up "i think" it is on most HP's eitherway the recovery will reload windows so thats why i said back it up before u do

ca4nkashun, this is a very easy fix.

All you need to do is copy the ntdlr file from your OS cd/dvd to c: drive.

your windows should be fine after that.

Depending on your situation, you might have to load savemode first before hand.

Press F8 after post to do that.

All Ntldr is, is a file that's needed for windows to load. It's always found on the original cd/dvd as well.
