i want to overclock my i3 from 2.93ghz to 3.65ghz with a coolermaster hyper 212+

i have already overclocked it to 3.1ghz but not further because my ram is cheap and i dont want tp break it.

so if i set my bus speed to 166:

my cpu will be at 3.65ghz (166*22)

ram will be at 1660mhz (166*10)

but i dont want my RAM to be that high so if i set the ram multiplier to 8 (166*8=1328) will it run slower and not fail on me...??

Correct, your RAM would run at 1328, so depending on what speed it is rated for (1333 or 1600, I'm not sure) you may even be able to lower your timings a bit.

Your RAM wouldn't fail anyway. Your system would crash first because of lack of stability.
