Hi, Just today i upgraded my computer from 256mb of ram to 2g and i don't see a difference at all.. I tried runescape on high detail, and some flash games just to test it, and they don't go practically any faster that i can notice. Even just browsing the web it goes just as slow. Also right after i tried the 2nd gig the keyboard stopped working, then i switched the sticks around and it stopped. Is any of this a problem?

If the programs you use don't require a lot of RAM then you won't see any difference; however, you will be able to run more at a time.

Run Memtest86+ overnight if you want to test the RAM.

I think this is your system :

CPU ( processor ): P4 2.4 ghz
MOBO ( motherboard ) : Intel 845GV
GPU ( graphic card ) : Intel 845GV ... onboard GPU ..
PSU ( power supply ) : 200 W or 250 W
Maximum memory : 2 GB DDR SDRAM PC2100 (266-MHz) or PC2700 (333-MHz) DDR SDRAM (non-ECC)

FROM DELL.COM

I guess this is the memory you added. Adding memory cant really improve your performance. Your much more GPU bottlenecked ( = the slowest part ).

Buyed a new GPU is really going to improve your performance. But your motherboard only have PCI connector. NO PCI-e. This is really limiting the GPU choice.

Nvidia : 9400GT can be found somewhere near 60-80$.
ATI : HD2400 can be found somewhere near 60-80$.

If you cant affort this .. an FX5200 can do it. When WOW came out i played the game with this and a Pentium3 ...

New GPU won't help with flash games and internet browsing.
