Hi,

I'm not tech savvy but need to set up a home network with my new Gateway laptop and old Dell Dimension desk. Am getting an Epson Stylus wifi printer to share on the network.

I multi-task alot, Skyping, text docs, email, watch lots of You Tube, and I need a reliable fast signal for my online MMOG.

New Gateway has HDMI, so am looking for additional monitor for watching videos. Considering dual 19" monitors, 1366x768 res, which would be cheaper than one large one (22-24" ).

Since I'm investing in printer, monitor/s, peripherals like USB squid hub & cables, and accessories like printer cartridges, etc, I would like to get as inexpensive a router as possible.

Will be getting Comcast 15 Meg broadband in a week. The sales guy suggests the D-Link DIR-655 Extreme N Wireless Router which he has at his 2-story house. I live in an apartment, so don't need distance, just reliability, bandwidth and speed for printing, downloads etc., and my game.

Some N routers had good ratings on Amazon but all in same price range. These are ones I read about that sounded good but are less than the suggested D-Link DIR-655 Extreme N Wireless Router @ $94.78:

~ Linksys Dual-Band Wireless-N Gaming Adapter, $70.99
~ Linksys WRT160N Ultra RangePlus Wireless-N Broadband Router, $79.68
~ ZyXEL NBG420N 802.11n Wireless Router w/ 2 IPSec VPN Tunnels, $80.06.

Any suggestions of brand and model would be greatly appreciated.

Comcast said I can buy a modem at Best Buy and get a Comcast $80 rebate. I need to get modem info as well. And about WPA set up being more secure than WEP.

Thank you.
