The bolded items are the differing ones.

My questions are
1 will the size of the case matter/ or will it cause the heating to go way up
2 is it a better idea just to get a slower hard drive and a bigger/better mem card
3 does the core i7 still support dual channel? because i would like to op to get 4 gbs not three if possible, and would the 3gb vs the 6gb make that big a of a difference in gaming?
4 which one looks better?
total cost of system 1- 2013.86
total cost of system 2- 1968.87

im looking to build in 1 month so prices will probably go down a little, any suggestions other than that?

ps, if prices drop enough i would be able to get 6gb of ram for sure,

also, unrelated, how long does it take newegg for standard shipping?

1. Change ur hdd for a WD 640GB...it provides very high performance at a very attrative price...so shave of money on the velociraptor...
2.nxt stick to 4870X2
3.With the money saved go with a board from gigabyte or ASUS...they have triple pcix16 slots....so will help u when u want to add another card(with msi u can but)...and gigabyte & asus are more reliable then msi...so spendin tat amount of money will favour giga or asus...
4.Find any psu/case combo which will help save money there...
5.and i dont think there will be a much difference between 3Gb and 6 gb FOR NOW...3GB will be suffice..as ur card will have 2GB....or if u can afford be future proof and go for 6GB
