my X4 940 GA-m57sli-s4 won't post with my 4870 it restarts when the post screen shows
threw in a 9600 gt boots up no issue iam thinking Power supply or motherboard
it handled a amd BE 5000 with the 4870 with no issues what do you all think thanks

thermalake 650watt like i look up the watts on the 5000 64watts and the 940 is 120 so the power supply vs new MB
same money but dont want to buy one and still need the other well see thanks

Did you plug the 4-pin Molex into your mobo? It may be needed with high-wattage video cards. This socket is located next to the PCIE X1 slot, and behind the audio connectors.

everythings pluged in the only change is the 940 the 4870 ran fine with the BE 5000 i will keep you posted

have you turned of the sli mode to normal on the jumper on the motherboard.

make sure you put that molex connector in to the motherboard...

have u tried the ati card in another machine - might be that....

re installed my 4870 after i up memory voltage 1.90v seems to be fine not even sure if they are connected but its up and running great on my old board and ddr2800 memory thanks for the suggestions
