The Core i7 does not support error-correcting memory. What does that mean practically? where exactly these new processors, that dominated as we see in the charts, fail in comparison with previous processors?
It means it doesn't support, like a lot of older CPUs, error correcting memory. And TBH, you don't want ECC RAM for a desktop because it makes the system slower.
ECC RAM is best for data servers where the data needs to be correct 100% of the time. But on a desktop the errors don't harm anything.
ECC Ram is server side stuff. So if you're doing desktop/workstation (like 90+% of the user population) then it's presence or absence has no meaning to you either way.
------------------------------Which Chip? Well, it depends on which set of thieving b@stardz you choose to support: The ones who use insider trading to enrich themselves while running their company into the ground? Or the ones who illegally pay vendors to not support the first group?
