Asking twice will not get you an answer twice as good (or bad).

You may not have a default printer selected.

Do this: Start>Control Panel>Printers and Faxes

A list of printer(s) will appear. There should be a small checkmark in the icon for your printer showing it is the default printer. If it is not there, right-click your printer icon, look down the list for "Set as default printer" and click that item.

Now the small checkmark should appear in the printer icon, and Ctrl-P should work.
