is it good enough for a 1080p HDTV upgrade?

i want to get a higher resolution HDTV because i feel the amount of money i spent on these pc parts justify the expense of a HDTV with a high(er) resolution, as of this exact moment i have a 26" HDTV with a native res of 1360x768. i have a couple of cheap (not quality wise) 32" HDTV's bookmarked that are full HD at 1080p (1920x1080) so will this pc perform better at a higher res or will i lose performance. my pc specs are as listed and i will post some pics of my settings:

EVGA 780i SLI Mobo
Intel Q9300 @ 2.5GHz
4GB OCZ SLI ready ram @ 800MHz DDR2 in Dual-Channel
SLI EVGA GTX 260-216

i also may change cpu to Q9550 due to having 8.5x cpu multiplier and the Q9300 having a low 7.5x cpu multiplier. so i can reach at least 3.6 easier with the higher multiplier. i would have to put my fsb up to 480 and thats a little high to me, but it would actually take less fsb increase to get 3.6 on Q9550 than im running now to get 3.2GHz. my fsb now is 427MHz and 423 with the Q9550 gets me to 3.6GHz (only 3.17GHz with Q9300)

I wouldn't buy a Q9550 if you already have a 9300 at 3.20. The gain won't really be worth it. Besides, the limiting factor on the bigger screen will be graphics, not CPU.

i would like more than just one person to respond on this. will i be able to play crysis/warhead with the same/almost the same frame rate if i go up to 1080p res? will farcry 2 run the same frame rate as what i have now at 1080p? or about how much performance will i lose by going up to 1080p from 720p? i really need some more input before i buy the new HDTV.

to cjl: nothing personal, its not that i dont agree/trust you i would just like more ppl to put there input as well. buying a tv is a big purchase, and i would like to be assured i wont have a major performance loss. its just that i feel limited by my tv's current resolution for what ive invested into my pc, like my tv's res is a slap in the face to my pc because its a low res when the hardware can do the same/better at a higher res. and no im not crazy.

cjl is right on what he said.

also, expecting to get "same/almost same" frame rate when ur doubling ur resolution is crazy. however, if ur asking if these games are still going to be playable, then yea, most will be fine with the exception of super high end games like crysis (u'll have to turn off/down certain eye candy like AA, shaders, etc.).

if u need specific numbers, google is ur best friend. here is a good start tho:

Crysis will run fine at 1080p on SLI GTX 280s with almost everything on very high, but no AA. You might have to turn shaders down to high. Almost all other games will run fine fully cranked.
