Desktop Missing Windows XP

Hello,
The desktop is missing on this computer. I have done a virus scan and a system restore to a month ago and it is still gone

that is a SS of the desktop currently, you can not right click. windows key commands do not work. so I do not know what to do, anyone have any ideas on this?

Download and install Malwarebytes in Safe Mode with Networking. Update it and do a full scan. (This is of course only if you can access your desktop in Safe Mode). If you can't, you can try plugging the drive into a working computer and running a scan with Malwarebytes that way. Only other option is to reload the OS.

when i boot the comp up and hit f8 it doesnt give me a option for safe mode it just says load windows xp media center edition... I'm running malwarebytes tho, will see how that goes, any other suggestions?
