the Q9550 hands down.
WAIT. Those systems are TOTALLY DIFFERENT.

for gaming at stock, the AMD system is little better for higher resolutions.

If you plan on buying and SLI ing the 9800 gtxs in the intel system, that would be a bit faster in the long run, but more expensive.

If your Monitor is above 1680 x150 resolution, get the AMD, if not, get the intel.

Whichever makes you happier. What are you looking for? What sort of programs will you run? What's your budget?

Get the INTEl. Do it now.

It is much faster than the Amd system.

yea i saw the intel had DDR3 nad AMD had DDR2 and also the intel can have 16GB Ram the amd can only have 4 GB ....last question can i take out that 9800gtx and put in an gtx 295 ?

Yup. it is very easy, one screw and pull it out.

Just make sure whatever PSU you're using can support the GTX295 since it requires alot more power than the 9800GTX.

Also, at that price, you might want to check out the cyberpower site. It offers i7 at a pretty decent price as well (it is faster than the Q9550).

Well, between those two systems I would get the AMD and add another 260 for SLI instead of buying a 295. The performance difference between the 2 260s in SLI and a single 295 would be minimal especially since they would be bottlenecked by the CPU. Either way I would replace the Raidmax PSU. You could possibly do fine with the Raidmax, but they are much less effecient than other PSUs and considering their defect rate and questionable raitings I wouldn't risk a system you're spending over 1k to it.

Yeh get the Phenom II 940 - at least it's a "genuine quadcore", rather than hypo threader fakequad.

And get a pair of ATI HD4850 and save your money for gaming beer - unless you just need to grow your e-peen.

LOL.
They are both genuine quadcore.

not to the irrational they aren't. they will tell you 2+2 does not equal 4. they insist it needs to be 1+1+1+1=4 irregardless of which is faster.

to tell you the truth. If you are an overclocker I would get the Q9650 and overclock it to 4GHz +. But if not get the Q9550.

You mean 9550's are still 2+2? hmmm...I didnt know that.

the Core2 quads aren't 2 cores plus hyper threading. i don't know where you got that information from or if you are just intentionally trying to mislead someone who doesn't know better. the reason so many rabid fanbois cry about the Core2 quads isnt the misconception your peddling. it is because it is two dual cores linked and sharing the same bus rather than four individual cores. feel free to research it. i wouldn't mislead the misled.
February 15, 2009 10:22:24 PM

^He means two separate dual core dies fused together like the q6600.
February 15, 2009 10:41:55 PM

I bought this Q9550 system from Cyberpower little over a month ago...

I highly recommend you read the reviews... especially regarding heat issues as my system ran WAY too hot when i got it. Dont know if those versions have the same issues, but I would definately check into it when you receive whichever you decide on.
