I've been hearing numerous rumors that nVidia will be releasing their new line of cards in January. Can anyone confirm this? If so, please show some sources. -Thanks

We know of a GTX 295 (260 (216) GX2) comming in January, and a few mid-range GTX 200 based cards are to follow.

Nothing has been confirmed, only some reports on fudzilla and that chinese site that always manages to somehow get pics of cards.

Well the reason why I was asking is because I just ordered a great bundle that included a EVGA X58 mobo and 3x EVGA GTX 260 216 Core Superclocked videocards. Do you think upgrading to one GTX 295 is worth it right now or just keep my 3x GTX 260's till something even greater comes out? How much of a performance boost would I see with two GTX 295's compared to 3x GTX 260 216 Cores?

No one could tell you right now fragr, there is basically 0 information on the 260x2, but I would imagine it's just a bit better than 2 gtx260's in sli.

Good point. I'll probably just stick with the 3 GTX 260 216 Cores for a while. I'm pretty sure they'll hold up just fine

even when the numbers are higher, i do not like the multi-gpu single card solutions. heat monster comes to mind.

True. I'll see once the new ones come out and how much of an improvement they are. If they're a substantial amount better then I'll just sell 2 cards and do the step-up program. Sounds like a pretty good plan

I keep hearing that, despite the fact my 9800 GX2 never gets above 75C. Maybe ATI cards have cooling issues, but i've never had a NVIDIA card run over 80C after doing my standard 80% constant fan speed fix.

Especially when most ATI high end cards use dual slot coolers which output out the back it doesn't really matter unless talking about radiated heat if there is any off the back of the card.
