Am I screwing something up?

SO, this is confusing me.

I have this (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820134730). It shows up properly in CPUZ as pc-6400.

I bought this (http://shop1.frys.com/product/5700972;jsessionid=-GpRgxejZFSlLkUFQabtLA**.node1?site=sr:SEARCH:MAIN_RSLT_PG) But it shows up as only pc-5300 in CPUZ.


I took the 2 sticks of the first type out and it still only shows as pc-5300. How can pretty much the same ram from the same company, both supposedly 800mhz, be different?


My mobo is a Jetway HA06-GT, processor is AMD Phenom II x3 710 OCed to 3.0

Part 2... how much of a performance difference is there between 5300 and 6400?

you have to go into the bios and set the peed at ddr2-800, kingston does this so that the sticks will work in a motherboard that only supports ddr2-667
