Hi.

I have a Dell Precision T5400 with a ATI FireGL 7700 card installed. I mainly use 3ds Max for which this is ideal.

However I am planning on purchasing e-onsoftware's Vue. After a little research it appears the FireGL card is not ideal and would be better with a NVidia or ATI Radeon.

My computer has two PCI-e slots so my question is can I install two different graphics cards to allow the software to take advantage of the one that works best for it?

Many thanks for any replies.

Yes, you can install two PCI-e video cards as long as your motherboard has two PCI-e slots.

Ideally, both cards should be from the family. Since you have a FireGL GPU you should install an AMD/ATI card to minimize complications.

I've heard people say that Windows XP will allow both nVidia and ATI drivers to run at the same time (some tweaks may be necessary). However, they also say that Windows Vista will not.
