Tried to upgrade ram from 512 to 2gb max allowed for xp home edition-after install several times same thing occurs--system will not boot ? Please Help Thank You mjy899 ALSO when turned on system makes 7 buzzing sounds in a row ?

Dell Dimension 8200 (533MHz FSB) Memory

 


YOU NEED TO USE MEMORY FROM THE 533 MHZ FSB BECAUSE OF YOUR CPU!

 

PC800 ECC/Non-ECC RDRAM RIMMs. (2.1gz and above 8200 machines choose 8200 533FSB memory). Make sure to have latest bios updates installed.

 

Here is the specs for the ram you need below!

 

Dell Dimension 8200 (533MHz FSB) Specification
Memory Type: Rambus RDRAM
Memory Speed: PC800
Chipset: Intel i850E
Memory Type: Non-ECC Non-Registered, ECC Non-Registered,
Memory Slot(s): 4
Max. Memory Per System: 2048MB (2GB)
Max. Memory Per Slot: 512MB
Install Memory in Pairs: Require to install in pairs
