Rig wont boot, graphical artifacts

So I came home to a PC still running, the LCD monitor indicating that it's still receiving signals, but the screen is blank. When I rebooted, I noticed the graphical artifacts, the system wouldn't boot up normal mode but was able boot up in safe mode.

Even when it booted up during safe mode, the graphical artifacts on screen (vertical streaks of blue dots) persisted.

Is this a symptom of my graphics card failing (8800 GTS 320mb)?

More about wont boot graphical artifacts
  1. That defiantly is the video card as the monitor never shoots random symbols at you. Try re-seating the card.
  2. the gfx card is almost certainly gone to gfx card heaven .
