I tried the suggested "Run As, and un-check the Protect My Computer And Data From Unauthorized Activity" solution, but I still get the error message. Many of the links for this problem on Google seem to be dead, so I'm without a fix. Anybody got any suggestions?

I clicked on the link you mentioned, and it is broken. All I get is a time out message.

Just checked the link, opened up OK here. You don't have any sites blocked do you?

You can also try to download the drivers from Brother instead of using the disk, unless you already did that.

I was finally successful. I had been trying to install my printer in the folder where I wanted it to go. Once I gave up on that and just let it install where it wanted to, everything worked. Thanks for you suggestions, tho.
