Recently upgraded to an i7920 gaing system and have sent for all the parts
i.e. 750 watt psu; Nvidia GTX 280 SLI; 6GB 1333 MHZ RAM etc.
Anway i have sent for an Intel X58SO the "Smackover board" but have recently been hearing that it
a really terrible board and has been experiencing problems - what i want to know are the rumours true
and do any you have the board, how is it working and is the overclocking a big issue on these boards which apparently
have a locked multiplier.
ANy suggestions on changing the board and why would be great also the price range is between $240 - $300 dollars;
I live in South Africa and getting a board here is way more expensice to your equivalents due to tax and shipping.
Our exchage rate is 1 U.S. dollar is equal to 9.43 south african rands (ZAR) - laugh it off you lucky sods ;-)
The Asus P6T Deluxe V2 - that i have been hearing about sounds like a good board but is out of my price range at R4225 (ZAR) equivalent to $448 - yeah what a rip off i know it costs more than the i7920 processor and thats one of the cheap boards.
So if you can over me an alternative for cheper or slighly more expensive between R2200 - R3400 ($233 - $360) i'd appreciate it
This has to include shipping to south africa (gauteng - my province in Pretoria (near Johannesburg)) if possible.
Well I have the Asus P6T Deluxe V2 and it's an Awesome board. I love Asus anyway and i've built about 120 in my time in my side business and Asus has never let me down! This puppy's Oc's like crazy as well.I updated to the New BIOS just for fun to see if there was any improvements and it's Ocing with the same voltage and it's still as Asus alway's has been for me,,Perfect!
