Hello, I've never built a PC before and so I recently ordered a , GIGABYTE GA-EP45-UD3P LGA 775 Intel P45 ATX Intel Motherboard - CLICK Here -

I'm also planning on buying a q6600 to go with this. What memory should I purchase with this? Will this work - Kingston 2GB 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400)?? Or is this memory used for older motherboards?

So, can I get these 4GB (2x2GB) sticks and then upgrade 8GB in the future? Or is it best to stick with using only 2 sticks like back in the day with HT technology P4's?

I know I might sound like an idiot and I can admit that. If anyone clear clear up these problems I'd be so happy!

Two (or four) of those sticks would work, but cost more than you need to spend. These Mushkin would be cheaper: http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Produ [...] 820146692.
Get DDR2-800 that will run on the JEDEC standard 1.8V, like these do.
