Wrong memory reading

I have 4 GB ram 4 x 1GB when I enter bios I can see that all 4 slots have 1 GB ram in it, but when I go to control panel and system or i go directx diagnostic tool (dxdiag) its says 2814 MB RAM

is there problem with my ram or the reading is wrong ??
