First Build. Making Sure Everything Fits.

Title says it all. Gonna run my first build. I just want to make sure everything works together/PSU will keep everything going hot and all that good stuff. Thanks.

Case - Antec Twelve Hundred

PSU - ASUS Signature 650w

Mobo - ASUS P5Q-E

RAM - mushkin 4gig DDR2 800

GPU - EVGA GeForce GTX 260

CPU - Intel E8500 Core 2 Duo

HDs - Western Digital Raptor 74g 10k RPM / Western Digital 500g 7200 RPM

CPU Cooling - Zalman 9700

Looks good to me, nice rig, everything in place will do the job

. I went for a e8400 myself. I dont know anymore, i feel like i shoud have gone for a Quad, at the time, only the 65nm quads were there, but now that que q9450 and q9550 are there... But this is an addict problem...

I would actually recommend a SSD or the VelociRaptor over the Raptor drive.

GeForce card with a Crossfire motherboard is the only thing that caught my eye.

Why not get an SLI motherboard instead?

why pay for a crossfire board when you probably wont use that?

Spend a bit less on the MB or get a Radeon 4870 instead of the GTX 260 which gives you a cheaper upgrade option if you ever need it

Really not planning to use Crossfire or SLI honestly, so I didn't really pay much attention to either. ASUS mobo came across well recommended across the board which is why I picked that one up. Was also looking at this gigabyte mobo, dice?

Taking your advice and picking up a VelociRaptor slomo.

The GA-EP45-UD3P is very good. Great overclocker.

I'd drop the $240 GTX 260 and the $200 PSU (OK, $160 after combo with Antec 1200) and get two HD 4850 cards for $135 each http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102770 and a Corsair 650TX ($80). You save $50 and get better performance.
