How can I can change the listing in the bios. It is showing the dvd as ide 0 master and the hdd is listed in the ide 1 master slot. So when i click into the dvd ide 0 master it lists info that normally refers to the hdd. I tried moving the ide hookup on the motherboard from the green slot to the cream colored one and it didn't change the location of the hdd in the bios settings.

which cable: 40-conductor or 80-conductor?

BEST WAY is slave device at the middle connector
on the 80-conductor ribbon cable, and
master device at the end connector.

Then, be sure each device has matching jumpers.

Another option is CS (Cable Select), but all devices
must be compatible with CS, including the controller.

When in doubt, master jumper goes with the end connector,
and slave jumper goes with the middle connector.

To achieve this, switch bays: that way, you can
fold the slave connector under the master connector
to conserve space and improve ventilation.
