I need some help.

I like the idea of soft modding, as i have a Quadro FX 3400 = (Geforce 6600/ 6800), although i got it cheap 2 years ago (about $400) i want to upgrade with a cost for power solution.


I want to know if i get 2 x lets say 8800 GTS/GTX or Ultras, And i Soft mod them to Q FX 4600/5600 & install Quadro drivers

i) will i have any problems with rendering?
ii) will it crash more frequently then the typical Quadro card?
iii)Will i have SLI issues?

I need to know if what i plan to do will be worth it. If you have soft moded a GFX card ATI or Nvidia and you have used Maya on it (as in modeled/ Animated/ rendered) i would appreciate the advice.
