Drive connector compatibility

is an ATA/100 2.5" laptop drive connector the same as an EIDE 2.5" connector

  1. Yes. ATA/100 and EIDE are used to indicate the same thing: Parallel ATA.

    The original "EIDE" spec runs at 33MB/s, however. But it is still used sometimes to indicate PATA devices even though they can run at 100MB/s or even 133MB/s (max).
