Computer has problems after static shock

What could have cause the computer not to respond to shut down from the mouse command, or a push on the power button.It responds to restart from the power button. Also reset switch does not work. All of this happened after I gave the system a static shock that knock it out for a few minutes.

EMAIL?? This is a forum... just wait for a response.
You could have killed your Powersupply and/or your motherboard. Or just the switch itself on the case. Only way to find out, is to test each of them out...

I static shocked an old pc before which ended up damaging the memory.
This sounds like a damaged motherboard.
Only way to tell is to test each component like the previous poster said.
