So I need some general help or advice on the build I am building.
My limit for spending will be about 800 bucks, and that's about all i can spend.. =[.

Here's the specs

CPU - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6819103272

PSU - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6817812004

RAM - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6820231122

MotherBoard - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6813157134

Case - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6811156078

Monitor - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6824009145

Any help/tips GREATLY appreciated!

Gotta hurry up and build this thing but keep changing my mind on the parts.

I will be using it for gaming, would like to play crysis here and then, but that game sucks ass besides the graphics. I'd like to be able to play BF2/2142 and any new games on at least high though.

Lol, remember, only 800 bucks, dont reccommend an ATI 4870 X2 or a q6600+, AMD is the way to go for a poor man with an Arctic Freezer 64 Pro.

dude, i thought the same thing with AMD before I ventured onto these boards. You are going to be converted to Intel by the end of the day. If I could figure out how to share wish lists on New Egg, I would show you the $600 system they have helped put together that is going to rock.

Check out Proximon's big lists o parts:

What about i skimp the harddrive since i already have a 160gb WD cavier over here from my old AMD build that overheated and died, hahaha. And 160 gb's is all i need i suppose, and get this DFI board, could it do crossfire?

I guess you could use your old HD, but the new drives are MUCH faster. It's your call. The WD6400AAKS is around the same speed as the old Raptor drives. I'd get a new one since it's only $70 and won't cripple your new build.

You didn't mention crossfire before. The P5Q Pro will do crossfire at 8x speed, but if you really think you're going to want to do crossfire the 500W PSU won't cut it.

I kept my 580w Mushkin PSU

put in the DFI board

and changed everything else and threw in a Subbeam Transformer Case

(I like ze lights)

Anddd thats about 850

I can do that.

THANK you guys seriously though for allowing me to see that i can afford Intel Dual Core

Im tired of overheating AMD peices of crap =]

Hmm, I only care about the main parts right now, the motherboard, video card, and the only reason i like the mushkin PSU besides the good quality, the only PSU i can find on newegg with a Green LED fan. Maybe crossfire, but then again im sure ill just upgrade to a 4870+ or whatever single card comes out that is noticeably or worthy of an upgrade to buy.

The DFI motherboard looks promising to me and future proof.

It has two x16 slots, so I'm sure itll do crossfire?

Gonna be my first Intel computer... ever.

Let's see if there's a big difference!
