i just got a XFX 8800gs alpha dog edition, so.. i turned off my pc, installed the card, connected the card to the monitor and turned the pc on, but! when i turned the pc on i didnt see any response from the monitor and neither turn the pc off.. i just can reboot it or cut the power

so.. whats going on with this card.. why dont work? has something to do with any part of my pc?

MoBo: 4CoreDX90-VSTA (http://www.asrock.com/mb/overview.asp?Model=4CoreDX90-VSTA)
550W generic psu (+12v = 22A) (-12v = 0.8A)
cpu: Pentium D 820
2gb ram
2 hard drive (80 and 250gb)

You should be fine in terms of PSU power.

First off, did you plug in the extra power cable needed to the graphics card? Secondly did you uninstall your previous graphics card's drivers?
