Hi all,

i recently bought a few new parts for my computer incl;

e8500
x48c platinum
radeon hd 4870 1gb
corsair 2x2gb6500c5(i think)sticks XMS2?
Galaxy 1000watt psu
2x250gb hdd

I whacked it all together and wont get passed the boot up screen sometimes restarting and sometimes freezing, i thought it might be a ram problem but i have seen benchmark tests of the exact same ram being used.

Ive been reading people having similar problem with the CPU stepping etc. Iv sent it away to the local pc shop near me and they have told me that the motherboard is cactus but i believe its the cpu and bios conflict. Ive also read the bios req for the cpu on the MSI site but it doesnt mean anything to me.

wanted to ask i have two cpu's in other computers in my house i could use to get on flash the bios and then put my new cpu back in/

the two other CPus are - e6600 and a crappy celeron duel core 1.6 or something, would i be able to update my bios with these cpus? coz i cant make sense of MSI website :(

Help please been in the shop for over a week now.

You can flash your motherboard to the proper bios using an old processor which is supported by your bios.
I would attempt a windows repair, because of the continous rebooting.

Test your memory with memtest86+ also.
