Does 1000watts psu require 1000watts avr/ups?

i cant find it in google or forums so im posting it here

Does 1000watts psu require 1000watts avr/ups?

im looking at newegg
i see numbers like

APC 750VA 600 Watts UPS
APC 900VA 540 Watts UPS
APC 1500VA 865Watts UPS


do i need a matching watts for AVR and my PSU?
or is it the volt amps?

i dont know how to choose.
so how do i choose an avr/ups for my 1000watts psu?

APC suggest the wattage rating for the UPS should be 1.25x the PSU wattage rating for power-factor corrected UPSes.

Search for "power capacity" at http://www.apc.com/support/answers.cfm

No, unless your system actually USES 1000W. What is your spec? To use 1000W you need overclocked Quad + 3 x GTX280. Buy a cheap Power Meter and measure peak system power by running 3DMark06.

so i guess to avoid avr/ups to overload, it is recommended that the avr/ups wattage is >= to psu.

I think the biggest mis-conception here is just because its a 1000w PSU doesnt mean its drawing that at the wall.

At current im running my Tower (620 corsair psu) my 24" Dell and a gigabit 24port switch off a 850va and load sits at like ~50%
!
