Will this budget build be ok to play games at medium settings?
Nov 25, 2008, 2:44 AM
Hi All, I am planning to build my first computer and was wondering if these parts would be ok for a budget rig to play games at medium settings.
Any and all help appreciated! Thanks!
Rosewill R5717-P SL 120mm Fan ATX Mid Tower Computer Case - $40
Western Digital Caviar RE WD2500YD 250GB 7200 RPM - $45
G.SKILL 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 - $35
Microsoft Windows XP - $90
VANTEC SP-FC70-BL 70mm PCI Slot Case Cooler - $16
Is this necessary/helpful at all? Keep things cool a little bit?
AMD Athlon X2 4850e 2.5GHz Socket AM2 45W Dual-Core
GIGABYTE GA-MA770-DS3 AM2+/AM2 AMD 770 ATX
Combo deal - $127
Antec earthwatts EA500 500W ATX12V
EVGA 512-P3-N954-TR GeForce 9500 GT 512MB 128-bit GDDR2 PCI Express 2.0 x16
Combo deal - $110
Total is $463 before tax and shipping.
I have a Sony dvd burner and a monitor to re use.
Is this viable at all for a budget rig? Since this is my first time planning to build a computer, if you see any mistakes in parts I've picked please point them out!
Edit: sorry for the bad links.
