Cd burner

my cd burner is not recognised due to a virus. is there anyway i can save my computer work and get the burner working again without resorting to a backup taken and put back on the computer by an engineer or sending my computer back to factory state and losing my work?many thanks for assistance.

I used windows live one care to remove several trojan viruses. Microsoft will let you download it for free and try it for 90 days. You can save it to "my documents". No cd required.
