Just trying to upgrade from a laptop that has a battery life of roughly 15 minutes and can't run flash games properly to a computer that run new games reasonably on the (relatively) cheap. Just making sure I'm not making stupid mistakes about my computer.
This is basically the end of my budget because I have to buy a monitor/speakers/mouse/keyboard, but I might be able to scrounge up 100 dollars or so. I really have no problem upgrading and I'll do so when I start to feel held back by my computer. I might try to get into light overclocking (just the safe stuff), but if I do I will be investing in additional sinks/fans.
Proximon is right about the PSU. Might want to relook at that. +1
Shortstuff_mt is right about the E7300 as well. Mise as get a fre upgrade for your cpu. +1.
Other than that you still need a mother board and monitor. I am unsure if you are needing to cut items currently out of your build to save up for these items or what?
you also need a 64 bit OS. Not sure if you have that covered or not yet?
No real reason that I put together a list without a motherboard and a hard drive, besides wanting to get some feedback quickly and not actually rereading my post. I've got a copy of 64 bit Vista ready and waiting and I've got the monitor picked out. This is the hard drive I'm looking at.
Come to think of it, I know virtually nothing about picking out a hard drive. Basically all I did was hit top sellers and 400-700gb.
Last question before I buy...
Looking at how cheap the HD4870's are right now I was wondering if I should be looking into that as an option. I question how much I actually need more then one video card and if the jump in price would be worth it. I guess I would need a nicer motherboard and power supply, but I'm worried that if I go to cheap I'll wind up regretting it later. Should I think about crossfire? If I did how much more would it cost me?
Shoot, that was two questions.

Decided to take the safe route and not spend more money then I planned, but I'm still madly in love with my box. Nothing installed yet but firefox and some drivers. Thanks for all the help, folks!
