I got my old Radeon 3870 factory overclocked to 800mhz. i plan to upgrade to a new system motherboard: Msi DKA790GX processor: AMD™ Phenom™ X4 9850 2.5 ghz memory:Corsair 4Gb XMS2 (2x2gb) Twin2X DDR2 800 hard disk:WDC Caviar Black 32mb 640gb (WD640AALS) casing:Cooler Master (RC-690) 690 atx w/o psu black w/ clear side window psu:HEC 550w Win+ Power options: 1. crossfire HD3870 and buy another PCS 3870 512mb DDR4 2. buy Radeon HD 4850 I play on my LG W2252TQ 22inches LCD.
the 3870s in crossfire will usually perform about 10-25% faster than the 4850.
It really depends on the game though...
I say save your money and the the 3870. You PSU is fine for it i believe.
Good Luck!
would love to get a crossfire also...i dont want to waste my HD3870 since it can still play with 22inches at 1680x1050
^Then i guess you have made your decision
