hello everyone! this thread will be used to see who has the best computer (most likely it will not be me lol). we will be using 3dmark06 default everything, crysis benchmarking tool 1280X1024 and 1440X900 resolution with all settings on high, time of day:9. take a screenshot of your system's configuration with CPUID and GPUID as well as your crysis and 3dmark06 benchmark score and post here.

well, what are you waiting for? let the games begin....

More about : benchmarking

I think I do ok :)

^1.59 VOLTS?!?!

Damn you got balls.
December 19, 2008 4:48:38 AM

lolol im not finished ocing yet! post back a bit later... btw if you're using the very high hack in xp, it won't show up... so when we select High it's actually testing Very High

i think the natural mod actually improved my fps tbh, and it looks better! :)
December 19, 2008 4:54:41 AM

my very high hack doesnt do that. mine is an optional type of thing...

i have yet to download the natural mod. is it really worth it? or will it devestate my system even more?? :p
btw, i game @ 1920x1080P all high settings
soo i cant really sacrifice much performance... ;)
December 19, 2008 5:09:02 AM

nah, natural mod is ftw. plus its easy to uninstall. seriously, crysis with the natural mod is just amazing... especially in the first few levels. you round the corner to the first enemy outpost in Contact, and the world slowly brightens and the sun shines through a palm tree... just amazing.

all without a single stutter too :p
December 19, 2008 5:12:29 AM

so is the performance similar to very high settings or high settings?
im just worried my framerate is gonna drop more. (like it needs to drop anymore lol)

No crysis disk here right now - I may be able to get it tomorrow though. Here's 3dmark06 though:

IIRC, Roadrunner has a 4670, so I doubt we'll be seeing him in a graphics benchmark thread :)

He beats me on hard drive benches though...

I have a Bigwater 760i with another rad and pump just for the cpu. My normal voltage is 1.5, but for some reason its not stable for 3dmark06.

lol, ouch!!

isnt roadrunner the guy that kept slamming AMD becuase he had his almighty i7 920. (bottom of the barrel i7 CPU xDD)

December 19, 2008 3:11:26 PM

the 965 is too damn expensive while the 920 is a still a decent price. I think he made a good decision.
December 19, 2008 3:15:38 PM

I say that both company's are very good at what they do. As long as you enjoy their product all is well.

i dont think i'll ever buy an i7 system. too expensive for my tastes.

Looks like I won't be able to get the disk after all - I'm about to head up to go skiing. I can take some pics when I get back though (a couple days). The disk is locked in my dorm though, so it will be unavailable until mid January.

Where are you going skiing and what kind of camera do you have? I've been taking lots of snow pics with my d-SLR lately.

lol! looks like our off topic-ness has come back to get us xD

awesome! so how much did you get ur CPU up to? (squeeze as much performance into the benchmark as possible lol)

Copper Mountain, and I just got back. Snow was great :sol:

As for the camera, I don't have a good one, but I borrow my dad's Canon 20D when I need to. I'll probably get some pics tonight of my setup.

OK, so the pics took longer than expected :sarcastic:

Here they are though. My wiring isn't perfect, but I wouldn't call it too bad. I got most of them tucked away...

thats easy, the natural mod is very worth it. The tank level for instance all on high looks totally amazing. With the advanced ai mod it plays well too :p

theres a small fps hit, nothing serious, only thing that might cause some chugging is it increases the draw distance to the 'very high' level.
January 3, 2009 10:27:33 PM

hmmmm i get about 32fps from the crysis bench all hacked to dx9 very high with physics, textures and sound on high, with the natural mod and the advanced ai mod, 1400x900 0xaf 0xaa. 3dmark06 about 12550. Yes my cpu sucks. I might set up a picture hosting account and post the screenshots.
