Bought a Biostar GF8100 M2+ SE mobo with an AMD Phenom 9850 Quad-Core 10GHz SKT-AM2 64-bit Processor (4 x 2.5GHz). Worked fine until mobo failed after 2 weeks. Returned to seller and found to be faulty. They sent me a replacement GF8100 M2G+ instead, which now appears incompatable with this processor. Get the message "The max power of CPU is over 95W" and it powers down. This suggests that the motherboard only supports processors up to 95W and that this one may be higher (125W?). However, the Biostar website lists this processor being compatable with the GF8100 M2+ SE mobo at 95W! Please help!!

Check your board bios version, which should be displayed on the post screen. You may have to use an older cpu to flash the bios, or contact biostar about getting a new bios chip. You can also try resetting the bios of your board by using the cmos jumper or removing the board battery with the system turned off. Also, you may have a weak power supply, which could have caused the board to fail prematurely.

Thanks for this. I am using a 750W PSU though.
