Hard disk failure + Windows 7

I have recently experienced an issue with my PC. Every time I boot for the first time of the day, it posts, but says 'hard drive error..press ctrl, alt, del. to reboot'. After I do this, it boots through no problem of the second reboot. It remains consistent every day for a week now, won't boot 1st time, but will the 2nd.

My system specs:

ASUS M4A785TD-V EVO
AMD Athlon X2 250 - 3.0Ghz
Crucial 4GB Dual Channel - PC1600Mhz
Sapphire ATI Radeon 5750 - 1GB VRAM
Western Digital 500GB 7200/RPM HD

Before this happening, everything worked fine, just trying to get a gathering of the minds on this issue.

Thanks.

Maybe your BIOS battery is bad? How old is the motherboard?
