we have a HP Pavilion 061 PY196AV-ABA a1130e 0p[1211CT101AMBEM00 with 256 memory the scan says we can add 3 gigs of ddr pc3200 400mhz. I want to add http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as... and I believe the origional ram is cl3. Im guessing take out the 256 stick(cl3) and just run the 2 gigs of cl2, if i keep the 256 stick in wont the computer run off the cl3 instead of the cl2? does this computer accept other ram ? I hear dells dont accept other ram very well. Do I need to go to bios to adjust voltage etc or should this configure automatically

the os is win xp home 32 bit

you need to make sure you get 2 - 1gb sticks of DDR400 ram. This is old Take out the old stuff and put these in and it should be fine. According to hp anyways.

These should work.
