I have a desktop PC in my room and want to hook it up to my television using HDMI. My dell laptop has a sweet HDMI out that I can connect to the TV, and in HDMI mode it looks great. I'd like to be able to do the same with my desktop.

Can I get another video card with HDMI out, economically? Or do I need to swap the one I have?
Also, how does XP handle HDMI video and sound? It's a little flaky in Vista (the laptop), but managable.
I took a look around and couldn't see where this had been asked before, sorry if it was.
Hmm, well you can always get a dvi to hdmi adapter...and the OS has minimal affect on the output, that's the vid card's job....the adapters are ~$3 usd where I work...
thought about that, but the quality of the video signal between DVI and HDMI seemed different to me when eyeballing them. Would prefer HDMI for future proofing to.
