I have a Big problem, I got a I7 920 with a Gigabytes UDr3 (none sli version), i got the Corsair ddr3
1600 mhz C8 version(the best). I am having a hard time trying to make it work. I changed the cpu voltage from 1.3 to 1.35 and the ram voltage from 1.5 to 1.6 ... the bios said it was 1600 but when i
use Everest PRO it says its in 1066mhz.
Right now all i want to know is , What board should i get that will enable me to run my ram to 1600 without complications or searching hours on end the forums to clock it to 1600. Price isn`t a concern
i just want the board to work with corsair C8 1600mhz.
I want a serious suggestion cuz i am gonna buy this board next week. I was thinking for the Giga Extreme or the Asus Pro V.2.
To get 1600, you'll have to load the XMP profile. I have exactly that RAM, and on my board it defaults to 1333 with terrible timings. Try to find a setting that lets you load the XMP profile, and it should work perfectly.

I dont think of any MOBO in the market now that can run RAM @ 1600MHZ without overclocking via XMP. I have the same memory in an intel X48 MOBO with the QX9770 CPU. the RAM run at 1600 in XMP profile 1, but all testing tools Shows it at 1066. the BIOS shows memory speed 1066 and memory speed override to 1600.
Do what I do, just wait for the next generation of systems boards.
I repeat: IN TODAY'S MOTHERBOARDS, RAM ADDRESS SPEED IS LIMITED TO 1066MHZ. IF THE MOBO SUPPORTS 1600MHZ FRONT BUS, YOU CAN OVERCLOCK YOUR DDR3 12800 MEMORY SPEED TO 1600 VIA XMP PROFILE. THERE ARE CURRENTLY NO MOBO THAT CAN READ YOUR 1600MHZ MEMORY AS 1600 WITH THE DEFAULD BIOS SETTINGS (WITHOUT OVERCLOCKING).
Get it?
