I'd like to know peoples thoughts on using either internet connection sharing or ad-hoc networking using two adapters on the same machine. One that receives the internet, and one that acts as beacon.

I've tried/messed around with it a bit but to no avail. Thanks

A roommate and I had Internet Connection Sharing setup for a while before we got a router. In my experience, it was more of a PITA than it was worth. You would be better off with a router, but if thats not an option, heres a quick and dirty way to set it up in Vista: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US [...] on-Sharing
Hope that helps.
