Is the nForce 430 compatible with a amd phenom II X4 920 2.8GHz? The processor hasn't been shipped yet and I should have checked before I bought it but if I can find out before it gets shipped out then I can cancel my order without being charged.
I would guess not, but it's the MB as a whole that needs to be compatible, so you'll have to check with your MB manufacturer. The manufacturer's web site should have a CPU Compatibility page/table of some sort.

Short answer, no. AMD 770, and 790's, as well as 1 750a SLI board are capable of using the Phenom II (after a BIOS update of course). So if you want a Phenom II, you'll need a new board (personally I'd wait for the AM3's).
