Core 2 processor isnt working

how can i tell if processor 2 is working on my emachines 4231? i have vista with the system info and everything works except core 2 which always stays at 0%. is my computer broken?

Run a game or an app like PhotoShop and see if it still stays at 0% or not

thats why i put the model number in, all stock emachines, its intel celeron 420 processor 1.6ghz ( i think ) 800mhz fsb and 512kb l2 cache, 1.5gb ram, with a nvidia 7300 grafix card. updates add drivers etc.

core 2 has never worked as far as i know
