So I'm building a budget fragbox and I'd love to hear people's opinions.
My budget for this build is $625 and I'd like to stay in that price range.
Things to keep in mind about this build:

I'll be taking it to and from school maybe once a week (don't know if that'd affect anything) since I do photoediting and school computers suck.

I do a ton of gaming, cod4, cod5, left 4 dead, tf2, fallout 3, that kinda thing.
My monitor is a 22" with 1680x1050 resolution

I do also ton of multi-tasking too, watching movies, converting movies, multi-tab web browsing, so I think I'm sticking with the quad-core

G31 chipset interesting.... I belive thats got intergarted graphics on it personly I would go with a p35 if not crossfireing which I can see your not with a 9800GTX. assuming you can find a P35 for that case if not i will shut up about that xD

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813136055- getting alittle expensive I know, look something alone these lines I m not sure about G31.

yes the q6600 is a smashing bit a kit and it will over clock well, need a good cooler for that..

my major consern
is that power supply, never pay cheap amounts for the power supply for many reasons one is that if it shorts out it might get to your componets and fry them I would look at PC power and cooling BE QUIET, corsair, tagan and seasonic etc there are other good companies out there, you only need a 500-600watt for that system

something like that will do you nicly.

everything else looks fine....

Those things are getting a little pricey :\
My budget's around 625.
I understand about the power supply issue though, I'll look for a better one near that range

yeah sorry they was the first things I found it looks like the depression has driven hardware prices up in america too :/ I was only using the foxconn mobo as a example of what you could get, however the powersupply is probley the most inportant peaice of hardware which most people try to cut on and regret it later.
that powersupply unit is perfect through

I know another way to cut down on price...the OC BFG, there is no differnce phyiscly between oc once and stock onces yet OC ones are more expensive and the gain with them is minamal so I would get the stock GTX, I m being coutous about the GPU at the moment i don't know how well the 9600GT will play left for dead or COD5

i suggest u go with the 4850 dual-slot cooling ($130 after rebate) and its WAY smaller than the 9800gtx, which looks freakishly big... http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102770
look for a good power supply, i recommend corsair 650tx, i have the 750tx model, its very awesome, $70 after rebate http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139005
a nice p45 asus mobo would really let u OC the fsb on for the q6600, the mobos can be found for 100, but maybe that's too high
and also a nice cpu cooler, a bit big but excellent airflow http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835233003
i think seagate is better than hitachi http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822148288
